Archivum Ottomanicum is primarily devoted to Ottoman history and Ottoman philology. However, going beyond that, the editors also welcome articles in Ottoman studies as they relate to the history and culture of Europe – particularly Danubian Europe, the Black Sea area and the Caucasus – and also to the history and culture of Byzantium, and the Arab and Iranian lands. The journal also aims to promote the discovery and incorporation of as-yet unknown texts into the scholarly discourse and, wherever possible, to reproduce these for the readership.
